The Chef: Native Englishman Derek Barber was trained as a chef in a 5star hotel in Germany. He gained his work experience in Germany operating as a freelance Chef since 1992. His business was purely based on word of mouth. His regular clients were leading catering companies and a variety of international Restaurants where Derek was booked as stand-in chef, further as a consultant for openings, as well as assisting hands-on with: improving sales, food quality, and hospitality “make-overs” , hence his nickname “David Copperfield of the kitchen” Since 2007 Derek has been operating as business owner of Chef Solutions in the Kouga region. Besides catering, Derek also offered a large variety of home cooked meals with an international flair - restaurant food quality at take-away prices.
Derek is exceptionally well travelled and loves to combine highlights of various countries/cultures, his preferences being the Mediterranean, Asian and Moroccan cuisine. (Click images to view the gallery) Request more information or a quote
