History

In today’s fast-moving and constantly changing business environment, GO has recognized that there is a shortage of skilled workers in the employment market, and not very many means to upskill them. There is also a high unemployment rate with not very many means of creating jobs.

Many companies lack the specialist management skills and/or resources required to up-skill workers and implement learnerships. GO therefore effectively markets the concept of learnerships and training, and by so doing raises the standards of training, education and productivity in any company and in South Africa. GO Enterprises is proudly unique. In that our twenty-four years hard-won experience enables us to do everything for our client that is related to labour, recruitment, training and learnerships and job creation. GO has set up different business entities to productively interact with every industry and every SETA, as well as the local Municipalities and Government.

GO Enterprise is a diverse company offering its clients a one stop solution. In essence we become the different subdivisions of our clients, handling everything that is not their core (i.e. producing their product or services) function. By so doing, we allow the company to become more efficient in the production of their product or service.

Each subdivision within GO has a specialist or specialists in their fields that run that subdivision or company. This method of operation allows us to create jobs for the unemployed and unskilled person or persons. We are able to upskill them and make them more employable, and thereby lower poverty and crime, as well as dependency on the state GO is an accredited service provider with special focus on effective implementation and management of learnerships. At the same time GO offers a number of dynamic short courses which are registered with various SETA’s.

GO Enterprises also offers a much-needed service by CREATING jobs for people who are unemployed and also for those who are disabled. GO’s products and services, being unique, therefore vary from site to site and company to company.

COMPANY BACKGROUND AND PROFILE
GO Enterprise was started by Graham Nosworthy, and was primarily a family-owned company. His children as co owners assisted him in running the various businesses. GO’s primary focus was, and is, to enable the unemployed people in the Eastern Cape to become valuable employees. The spin-off from this continues to be greater worker satisfaction, higher productivity and improved profits for the employers.GO has grown from a one-man business to an enterprise employing several dozen people. Within this enterprise, there are 15 companies thereby widening our reach to the business community. GO did so well and in 2004 that GO yet again had to rent larger premises. GO is now based in Noth End, Port Elizabeth. The fifteen companies which currently comprise GO Enterprise and all its subsidiaries, share these premises. Most local people know this area; it is highly accessible by taxi or bus and we have no problem in getting people to come in to our offices. It is also in the center of the Industrial area, and is accessible via the national roads. The offices are ideally situated for the training and recruiting of job seekers. We have various training facilities where off-site training is conducted for our clients’ employees. Our classroom facilities promote effective learning. The classrooms have good lightning, proper ventilation and enough space.

COMPANY HISTORY
Graham started many of his business concerns as far back as 1982. Computer Cash and Carry was the first business to be started, when it was set up in 1982. This was then followed in 1990 by Graham Nosworthy Finance Brokers and then in 1991 Steers Restaurant Queenstown was started. These were followed in 1992/3 by a joint venture with a P.D.I group consisting of the late Norman Gray, T. Chetty and Graham Nosworthy called Plumnet, a plumbing company. Plumnet was 75% black owned. Brentwood Homes a construction company, was started in 1992/93. This was followed by Claassworthy Associates, Berea Business Centre and Berea Postal service in 1993. In 1994 Graham was the DEO for East London for the first multiracial elections in South Africa. In 1998 Graham joined up with Clintons Business Watch, a Security Company, eventually buying the company in 1998. At the end of 1998 and the beginning of 1999 Graham moved his family back to Port Elizabeth. In 2003 after starting Graham’s Outsourced labour Broking and finding that the name was too long for the back of overalls, he abbreviated the name to GO and this became the new branding.
